Prepare a simple comparison
Before changing a setting, open a familiar message and notice whether you can read comfortably. Choose an app you use every day as a reference. The best size is the one that suits you, rather than what someone else considers normal.
Change one thing at a time. If helpful, note the initial slider position so you can compare afterwards. Larger text does not require deleting files, installing a cleaner or buying a subscription.
On Android: search for the setting
- Open Settings.
- Search for Font size.
- Open it and move the slider gradually.
For interface elements too, search for “Display size”. Names and paths vary by manufacturer and version. Some steps in Google’s documentation require Android 13 or later, and some apps do not follow the font adjustment.
On iPhone: adjust text size
Open Settings → Display & Brightness → Text Size and move the slider. For larger options, use Settings → Accessibility → Display & Text Size → Larger Text. The effect depends on whether an app supports the system text setting.
Text size, speaker volume and zooming a photograph are different controls. If a menu is missing, check the manual for your installed version rather than selecting a similar-sounding option without understanding its effect.
Compare three everyday places
Return to the message, open your contacts and read a web page. Check that names, numbers and buttons remain visible. Scroll to the end and try a familiar button. A size that feels comfortable in a message may take up too much space elsewhere.
If text is cut off or a function becomes hard to reach, reduce the size slightly. You do not have to choose the maximum. Aim for comfortable reading while keeping important actions accessible.
If one app still looks small
Check whether that app has its own reading options. Do not install an unfamiliar extension to solve the problem. Browser text settings and page zoom can behave differently; consult your browser’s official help.
Ask for support if you need it, but follow the changes and make the final comparison yourself. Never share a password or verification code so someone can change your text size.
Keep a route back
Write down where you found the control. If the result is unhelpful, return there and move it to its earlier position. You can repeat the adjustment whenever necessary. We do not present generic images as exact screenshots of your model.
